Indian Fighters Chungreng Koren and Mridul Saikia Set to Compete in Road to UFC 4

The Road to UFC tournament is returning for Season 4, and India will have two promising fighters stepping into the cage—Chungreng Koren and Mridul Saikia. The highly anticipated event will kick off on May 22 and 23, 2025, at the UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai, China.

India’s Rising Stars: Chungreng Koren & Mridul Saikia

Both fighters will be competing in different weight classes:

  • Chungreng Koren will represent India in the bantamweight division (135 lbs).
  • Mridul Saikia will test his skills in the flyweight division (125 lbs).

The tournament will feature 32 fighters from 11 countries, including China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. The competition format remains the same, with quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals determining which fighters will earn a coveted UFC contract.

Why This Is a Huge Moment for Indian MMA

India has seen steady growth in MMA over the past few years, and the success of Anshul Jubli, who won Road to UFC Season 2 and secured a UFC contract, has fueled even more interest. Now, Koren and Saikia have a golden opportunity to follow in Jubli’s footsteps and make their mark on the global stage.

With promotions like Matrix Fight Night (MFN) and Super Fight League (SFL) developing Indian talent, Road to UFC provides a crucial gateway for fighters to transition from regional circuits to the biggest MMA promotion in the world.
